Visit to Medart

Medart Elementary School, located in Crawfordville Florida, recently participated in "Project Learning Tree".   Project Learning Tree seeks to educate students on the importance of our natural environment and how we can protect it. Several state agencies participated in these weeklong events with Gloria Johnson and Casanova invited by the Florida Wildlife Commission.

Gloria and Casanova spent October 25th and 27th talking with all of the students about Casanova and Florida Panthers. On the second day staffers/teachers Brook Mohr and Charlotte Hoover presented Gloria with a surprise collection that the children had taken up for the animals of Cougar Ridge.  There were lots of $1.00 bills and change that, when counted, added up to $200!!

Ashukalee, Lakota and Casanova (as well as Gloria) greatly appreciate the children's generosity and concern for the animals.
